Today was simply amazing! It started off by me having a meeting with all of the Law and Criminal Justice students and our advisors. Within this meeting we went over materials pertaining to assignments, course requirements, grading, class times, class location, transportation, safety issues, and professionalism.Today was also the day that I got to go to the National Crime and Punishment Museum! It was simply incredible! I could have stayed there all day! It was interesting to see how America's crimes and the punishments used for those crimes have changed throughout centuries. It was also kind of cool to read about the varies famous criminals such as Ted Bundy and Al Capone. What really caught my eye though, was the varies torturing techniques that were used back in the day for individuals who decided to break the law. Glad I didn't live back then! If you are ever in the D.C. area I recommend that you stop at the National Crime and Punishment Museum! You will be amazed! You can also visit:

Once I finished up at the museum my friend Melissa and I decided to go exploring! We walked for hours within the D.C. area. We got to see the Law Enforcement Memorial, the Homeland Security building, the FBI building, and we also got to see the Verizon Center (home of the Washington Wizards and the Mystics). This might not seem like a lot of sight seeing but according to myself and Melissa it was! Considering that most of the day was spent figuring out road signs and maps and how to get to one place to another! Don Nelson, you will be happy to know that when it came to directions and reading the maps...I did very well!
After a great day of exploring and visiting places I can honestly say I am pooped! I do though plan on getting some school work done tonight and I also plan on getting a run in. After that I think I will call it a night!
Missing Mom, Dad, Alex, Lucy, and everyone back at SMU! Hope all of you are having a great first week back at school! Keep warm and keep working hard!
